Birth and breastfeeding advocacy.

My name is Bianke Prozesky and I started Birthing B with a very specific purpose in mind: to help women and birthing people find their own inner strength during their birthing journey. Every mama should feel empowered and informed, no matter their location, color, education, background. I am originally from South Africa and lived there half of my childhood. I immigrated to the US when I was 11 years old. I am married (also to a South African!) and a proud mama of two boys: Nathan Donovan and Landon Nicholas.

After my first birth experience I knew I wanted to become a doula.

To have that constant support by your side during labor is invaluable to both the birthing person and their partner. The word doula actually goes back hundreds of years and has the meaning "to serve". Oh, what joy it brings me to know I’ve served a mother and baby in their sacred time of acquaintance!

A doula bridges the gap, giving you all of the options of which you should be made aware, and leaves you feeling loved, cared for and supported. Hiring a doula has numerous benefits, but perhaps most importantly, has been statistically proven to lower your risk of a C-section by about 30%. I am all about evidence-based practice and am constantly learning more about pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding and postpartum mental health. I'm trained and certified through BEST.
